Recurrent urinary tract infections (rUTIs) are recurrences of UTIs, with a frequency of two UTIs in the last six months or three or more UTIs in a year. In the treatment of rUTIs non-antibiotic-based immunoactive methods are frequently used nowadays, of which the strongest (I. A) is Uro-Vaxom, containing a lyophilized Escherichia coli bacterial lysate (OM-89). The Uro- Vaxom has a complex effect, as it is not only effective against E. coli but also against other Gram-negative uropathogens.
