Summary
Numerous preclinical and observational studies have investigated the potential benefits of diet, exercise and lifestyle in different prostate cancer patient groups. Although, lacking level 1 evidence randomised controlled trials (RCTs), the currently available results show that increased intake of fruits and vegetables, decreased intake of red meat and saturated fat and increased exercise, low BMI are associated with decreased risk of incidence, and increased progression-free, prostate cancer-specific and overall survival. Dietary and physical activity changes are often related. There are ongoing RCTs with pending results, which would have serve with evidence.
