Summary
Introduction: Introduction: Trimodal therapy (TMT) – a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy – is an alternative option for the preservation of the bladder instead of cystectomy. In some cases, salvage cystectomy is necessary due to tumour recurrence.
Case report: In this case report, we present a salvage radical cystectomy in a patient who underwent TMT, demonstrating that it can safely be performed after complete chemoirradiation therapy.
Conclusion: The effectiveness of trimodal therapy (TMT) in muscle-invasive bladder tumours is comparable to salvage cystectomy.
