Summary
Although CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) solutions are becoming increasingly popular worldwide, in addition to their potential benefits, their use can sometimes carry significant risks. While some CAM methods can become effective adjuncts to conventional therapies due to their proven symptom-relieving effects, others can be life-threatening; either through drug interactions they cause or when used excessively on their own. Since urological patients often do not inform their treating physician about the use of CAM methods, one of the fundamental tasks of healthcare professionals is to actively and specifically inquire about them.
